The South Fork of the Shoshone River lies Southeast of Cody, and reaches deep into the Washakie Wilderness Area.
Hiking: Twin Creek, Houlihan Creek, Ishawooa Creek, Ishawooa Mesa, Deer Creek, and Hunter Creek are all popular trailheads in the area.
Climbing: The South Fork holds the main concentration of ice climbs in the Cody region.
Fishing: Fishing access is possible at both Rock Creek and Houlihan Creek.
